Meeting Opened 1900 hrs at Lang Lang Bowls Club.
President Scott opened the meeting and welcomed all along.
Family of Rotary
President Scott let members now that Pam has recently had a fall that has left her a bit bruised & battered but otherwise well.
Sam has had a recent visit with Geoff Reeves. Geoff is still hanging out at KooWeeRup awating results from another round of test.
General Business
President Scott spoke to a couple highlights from the Tasmanian Conferance
Bee Homes for Native Bee's initiative run by a couple of Primary School students that could work as a template in local school's like Lang Lang, Bayles & KooWeeRup.
Rotary initiative in Bangladesh to address cleft pallet & club foot previlance. Looked at a simple malnutrition support for mother for 9mths of pregnancy for a cost of $70
High praise for guest speaker Saroo Brierley who is the inspiration for the story ‘A Long Way Home’ & the movie ‘Lion’
Scott was able to hitch a ride on Windeward Bound which is a traditional wooden tall ship that works closely with Rotary International on youth leadership and sail training adventures.
Couple of recent correspondance, one from Rotary Dandenong promoting their ‘Rotary’s Got Talent' on Saturday, 2 May 2026, at the Lyndale Secondary College Theatre. Also a notice for members that voting for district positions are currently underway. Votes can be cast by either the President or Secretary.
A letter was submitted by Travis outlining a request for auspice support from Koo Wee Rup–Lang Lang Rotary to Community Bendigo Bank for Lang Lang Primary School’s planned upgrade to its oval running track. Financial support has been secured from the Department & with engagement from Rotary, auspice support will allow the Community Bank to access additional funding through the Cardinia Foundation.
Michele indicated that after finalizing the Show n Shine there will be around $27,000 in profit. Michelle also mentioned off the back of this that members will need to discuss/confirm donations for the year.
ANZAC Day is nearly here & Rotary will be involved by cooking the breakfast after the Dawn Service which will be bacon & egg sandwiches. Memebers so far - Hayden, Michele, Rob & Scott. Jan is a likely, though was not in attendance. Travis will be at Melbourne service for the morning.
Travis thank Sam for lending the trailer to the Primary School for their STOMP Performance night. Great night for school & community

Scotty's Musings
Good Evening Everyone,
I hope everyone is well although I do understand that Sam is under the weather so we wish him a speedy recovery as we do for any other members who are unwell!
I’m an apology tonight, I’ve been housesitting my sisters house in Campbellfield since Easter whilst she has had a well deserved holiday in sunny Coff’s Harbour celebrating her birthday. I got to stay and look after her dog and the 2 cats. You could say I was their slave! Having said that, after working in Sale for 6 weeks and now 2 weeks in Campbellfield it will be good to return home tomorrow, especially with the price of fuel!
Anzac Day BBQ Breakfast is our next major annual activity and as many members as possible would be appreciated for the Breakfast. Please let the team know tonight if you can make it. I look forward to being there and assisting. Rotary has a wreath organised and we would also like someone to place that on the Cenotaph during the dawn service.
April is a 5 Wednesday Month so have a think about what you would like to do as a social night
