Family of Rotary:

  • Update on Geoff Reeve. Ashley Reeve has advised that Geoff is currently in Traralgon Hospital and has already been there for about a month. It appears that he will require an extended stay while he continues his treatment and recovery. Members have expressed their concern and support for Geoff and his family, and we send him our very best wishes for a steady improvement. We will share further updates as they become available.
  • Rob, being the generous soul that he is, thoughtfully arranged for his birthday to fall on our meeting night so we could all help him celebrate!
  • Megan let members know that she had recently experienced the loss of a number of members of her extended family. Members expressed their sincere condolences and support, and we extend our thoughts to Megan and her family at this difficult time.
  • Casey and Kyle shared their wonderful news in person with the announcement of their engagement. Members offered their warm congratulations and best wishes for their future together.

General Business:

  • Past President Wendy has advised the club that she is planning to revive the Marlo Fishing Trip, with a getaway proposed for March. Further details will be provided once arrangements are confirmed.
  • Show ’n’ Shine discussions continued as members worked towards finalising arrangements. Many thanks were expressed to all those who have been working hard behind the scenes to bring this event together.

How Low Can You Go!

Scotty's Musings -

Good Evening Fellow Rotarians,

What a busy two weeks our members have had.

By all reports and social media commentary, the Show N Shine was a huge success and this is without a doubt a credit to all involved.  Thank you and congratulations.  I am sure that there will be detailed reports about the day at tonights and future meetings.

There has been lots of other activities occurring in Rotary and these include:

RYLA has been announced again for 2026.  As a club we need to discuss this and see if we are wanting to participate in the RYLA program again.
The District 9815 Presidents Meeting is this Friday at Beaconsfield and I will be attending and representing our Club.
The Rotarians against Domestic Violence campaign is gaining momentum.  The next online meeting is the 23rd February and we will be looking to place our order for the shirts to use at events to spread the message.
Requests for support for a BBQ at the Primary School in Lang Lang has been received.
District 9815 Conference is under a month away and members can still join register if they wish.
Next Years Rotary Board needs to be finalised and our President Elect named.
Our Board is due for a meeting so we will need to set a date.

As you all know I have just returned on Sunday from 3 weeks in Tasmania and had a wonderful time.  Tassie is somewhere we all should visit once in our lifetimes and the Conference is a great stepping stone for that!

Some exciting news for me but will potentially limit my involvement over the next 6 weeks is I have been asked to work from the CFA Offices in Sale for 6 weeks backfilling the CFA District Business Manager Position which is a great opportunity and honour.  I will be staying with Bob and Diane whilst working in Sale and hopefully I will get an opportunity to attend a Sale Meeting with Bob.

Look forward to seeing you all at the Bowling Club on Wednesday night for our meeting.

Thank you once again for all you do and continue to do for our club,

Yours in Rotary,

Scott Hamilton
