Meeting Opened 1900 hrs at Lang Lang Bowls Club.

New President Harold opened the meeting and welcomed all along.

Family of Rotary

• A few missing from the meeting tonight, namely John who is currently in New Zealand, Rudy who is hanging out in the Grampians & Dean who is off on obligatory Scholl Holiday's holiday with family! Safe travels everyone.
• Sam, Harold, and a couple of Harold's brothers set off on a scenic adventure through Victoria and New South Wales, taking in the spectacular High Country up to Jindabyne and beyond. The trip's biggest challenge wasn't the winding mountain roads—it was trying to pronounce (let alone spell!) the name of one memorable stop. After much debate, it was agreed that it was Adaminaby... or something very close to it, I think!  
• Scott has recently completed a round trip of over 900km to celebrate the life of a great uncle Joe who passed on the 24th June.

Treasurer

• Lang Lang Memorial Hall has been booked for the 2026 Christmas Carols
• Community Bendigo Bank Grants night invitation have been received.
• Catani Netball Club has made a request for support to purchase marquee's for the club - Motion raised by Sam to donate $500 - seconded by Robbie - In all agreement.
• Funds have been transfered to Lang Lang Scouts for the purchase of equipment as previously agreed to.

General Business

• Storage of the BBQ van was discussed as there is concern that being outside is not good for its longevity. There has been previous discusions to look at ‘extending’ the rollerdoor at the sports ground - it was decided that Rob will look into a ‘shelter’ 

  Scott attended both the District & Pakenham changeovers as well as the 2027 Conferance Luanch on behalf of the club & in his roles as past President & newly appointed Secretary - Brief reports outlined below.

  
  Rotary Club of Pakenham Changeover Dinner
  On Tuesday 30th June I represented our Club at the Pakenham Clubs annual change over dinner.  It was held at the Copper and Fox Restaurant and it was a great night.  It was also the 65th Birthday of the Club.
  Outgoing President Ross Chudleigh outlined the Clubs achievements over the last 12 months and the Club certainly has some exciting projects underway both locally and internationally.
  The club this year has appointed 2 Presidents.  President Tim Mepstead from July to December and the President Steve Fisher for the remainder of the Rotary Year.
  A great night of fellowship was enjoyed and we wish the Rotary Club of Pakenham all the best for its next 12 months.
  President Tim has asked me to come across and be a guest speaker at their club which I have accepted so I will let you know when that is occurring.

  District 9815 DG Changeover

  On Saturday 4th July I had the honour of representing our club at the District 9815 District Governors Change Over Dinner at the Cardinia Cultural Centre.
  In front of a huge crowd our outgoing DG Peter Behm spoke of the achievements of the last 12 months across the District from Clubs and the District Team.  The “G” Train certainly covered some miles and visited most clubs.  It was a fitting way to complete Peter’s year as our DG.
  
  DG Peter presented several Paul Harris Fellowships with several members of his District Team receiving Sapphire and Ruby Pins in recognition of their service.
  Outgoing DG Peter’s Rotary year theme was “Unite for Good” and Incoming DG Emma’s Rotary Year Theme is Create Lasting Impact.  As part of the night around 20 previous District Governors passed the DG’s Ceremonial Chain from PDG to PDG and they spoke about who the International Rotary President was for their year as DG and what the theme was for that year.
  A delicious 2 course meal was had by all in attendance.
  Entertainment was a highlight of the night with Emerald Rotary Clubs famous “Spangles” keeping us all entertained.
  
  The induction of our new DG Emma Clarke was held and Emma spoke of her vision for the year.  In October there will be a cluster meeting of Clubs at Garfield – Bunyip and DG Emma will be there and it will be a great opportunity for members to meet Emma and hear of the awesome work Rotary is doing here in District 9815.
  A surprise at the end of the night was a massed choir who came and serenaded Emma with a great rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody for Queen Emma, with lyrics adjusted to reflect Rotary and the year ahead for Emma.  A great laugh for all in attendance.
  
  On behalf of the Rotary Club of Koo Wee Rup – Lang Lang we thank outgoing DG Peter Behm and his team for all there support and we welcome Incoming DG Emma Clarke and her team and wish them all the best for their year.

  District 9815 Conference Launch

  As the unofficial On to Conference Chair for our Club, on Friday 10th July I attended the launch for next years Conference at the Cardinia Cultural Centre.
  The theme for our Conference for 2027 is “Challenge to Change” and it is being held at Rydges  Resort in the Hunter Valley near Cessnock in New South Wales on the 22nd to 24th March 2027.
  An area renound for its wineries, eateries and Golf, the organising committee have promised the biggest and best conference yet.  Bookings for the conference and dinner open August 1st.  Conference cost is $295 (Including Gala Ball and Dinner) and accommodation starts at $275 per night including Breakfast (Conference would need 2 nights accommodation).
  A road trip might be worth considering?  Cessnock is approx 5 hours from Trangie, the town where our club used to have an exchange program with.
  It was a great night and more information will be coming shortly.
