Scotty’s Musings

Happy April Fools Day!

Look out for Sargeant Robbie Tonight. I’m sure that he will be in good form for the fines session tonight!

Lots has happened since we last came together and tonight I will give you all a run down on District 9815 & 9830 Combined Conference that I attended in Hobart. What a wonderful opportunity to gain insight into the wonderful world of Rotary and exciting things that are happening. I was made to feel very welcome and have made lots of new contacts.

I have had the wonderful opportunity through work to do higher duties in Sale for the last 6 weeks and that finishes tomorrow. It was a great opportunity and one made even more special because of the wonderful hospitality of Bob and Dianne Comber who allowed me to stay with them during my time at Sale. These higher duties were in a different direction within the Fire Brigade as I start looking towards the later stages of my career.

Another side benefit of staying with Bob was I was his guest at 4 meetings of the Sale Rotary Club. They are a great Club and again made me so welcome at there meetings. Thank you to everyone at Sale!

PELS is coming up in May at Sale and we will be sending our President Elect along to participate. As we head into the last ¼ of this Rotary Year, if you are interested in being a part of the board please reach out and we can have a chat.

Next Years Rotary Conference was scheduled to be a 5 day Cruise to Kangaroo Island and Return but due to logistical difficulties this has now been cancelled and we now are awaiting advice moving forward as to what and where next years conference will be.

The Lang Lang Primary School has written to the Club asking if we would be interested in entering into an Auspice Arrangement with them and the Bendigo Bank and the Cardinia Foundation to help them upgrade the running track at the Primary School. This is a big project and one that we need to understand the full implications prior to committing.

Our next Board Meeting is on Wednesday 8th at my house at 7:00pm and I look forward to a good nights discussions.

Once again, thank you all for everything you do to support our Rotary Club.

Kindest Regards,

Scott Hamilton
